GUARD ME, O LORD FROM THE HAND OF THE WICKED!
GUARD ME, O LORD FROM THE HAND OF THE WICKED!
At exactly 6:40 pm yeste
rday, I was in bed when I received a call from Destiny, one of my course mates that our long anticipating SYNTAX result has been posted on the notice board at Block A.
"Where are you?" I asked him.
"I am at the venue" he replied.
"Have you check yours?"
"Yes, I have. I had 50"
"Fifty? How come? Please help me check mine?"
"Hold on. I'm coming."
"Hello, are you there?" I asked.
"Ermm... You scored... You scored forty."
"Four what!" I exclaimed.
"That can't be my result. Please recheck it again"
"Calm down. It is 40. You scored 40"
Forty? No! Of all the courses I did, I developed an avid interest to the reading and studying of SYNTAX. So how..? How come?"
"What about all the tutorials, the group discussions and solving of past questions? The sleepless night and the unending stress we went through before we could do our presentation?
"How could he scored me 40? No oh! I know what I wrote;I breakdown the questions into pieces during the examination. That is not my result! The maker must have marked me down; I must call for my script!" my voice echoed in varying tone like a creditor who has come to take an unpaid debt from a debtor.
"Jide, calm down"
"Didn't we read? We all read! In fact, I read untill my eyes became red. Though the scores given to us does not meet our expectation but hear this: do not be saddened because things do not happen your way. What happened to you deeply affects other students as well. Exam result is not a result of what you will become in life! Does an intentional crap award piece of mark makes you a failure or an unintelligent person in life? Do not allow what you're being scored to depress and press you down. It is not what you're being scored that matters, it is how you can maximize and utilise what you know about what you're being scored that matters."
"Kindly cheer up and pray this prayer with the whole of your heart: Guard me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from violent men who planned to trip up my feet."
Psalm 140:4

MERCY MESS UP
Sister Mercy is a chorister in her church;
When she sings, many lost souls retrace their steps to the Lord.
Yet, she walks the street with a tight skimpy dresses
That displays her quadruplets to the world.
This attracts some guys to draw near to her
And they force their mortals into her unblown small balloon.
Sister Mercy weeps heavily in her room
But no one in the world would hear her cry.
The memories from that night haunt her
Till she becomes a victim of her circumstance.
Of course, she knows the truth
But Mercy allows the devil to use her the more.
Since then, sister Mercy becomes a dog;
Any colour and height become her choice.
When she gets anywhere, men follow her everywhere.
They go in and out, big and small rods into her hole.
She becomes an actress
With several scenes of sin, she performs everyday.
And one day, as she walks down the street,
A man of God preaches to her
And the word penetrates into her life once again.
She cries for mercy from the depth of her heart
And the Lord mesmerize sister Mercy's mess with His mercy.
Like sister mercy, many souls have gone astray into the world.
But it not too late to reverse and come to the Lord.
No matter how piled up your sin is
Come to Jesus;
He is richly rich in mercy
And is ever ready to take you out of your mess.

President Buhari approves #208 Billion for development in public tertiary institutions
President Muhammadu Buhari Saturday said he has approved N208billion as part of 2019 intervention through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund for infrastructural and teacher development in public tertiary institutions
The president said the intervention was part of his administration’s effort to address the deficiencies in all the segments of our educational system.
Buhari disclosed this at the 23rd convocation of the University of Abuja on Saturday.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr Sonny Echono, Buhari said his administration would continue to provide funding that would address some of the challenges in the nation’s public institutions.
The President said that the university system must continue to search for solutions to the nation’s developmental needs.
Buhari said: “There is no doubt that Nigeria will be a global player in the emerging knowledge economy. What is required is to ensure the quality of our human capital and also maintain the desirable balance for sustainable national socio-economic growth and development.
“The present administration will continue to improve on the infrastructural facilities in the universities, promote teacher development and curriculum review.
“It is in furtherance of this that I recently approved the disbursement of N208billion to public tertiary institutions under the 2019 intervention of the TETFUND.
“The government will continue to look into the issues raised by the universities especially regarding physical development and will equally monitor the universities closely. I also seize this opportunity to reiterate the commitment of the Federal Government to addressing youth unemployment.”
Buhari noted that for the country’s education system to favour it, the curriculum must focus on the development of entrepreneurial skills of the individuals and encourage research and innovations.
He said the National Universities Commission has put in place motion to address the country’s curriculum and the minimum qualification for university teachers.
According to him, the combined effect of these measures should improve the quality of “our school system and graduates as well as prepare the products of our educational system to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s work place.
“This certainly impact greatly in the effort to generate employment, reduce the high rate of poverty and the incidence of social deviance in the country,” he added.
Buhari said that his administration would not rest until youth unemployment was reduced to the barest minimum.
Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof Michael Adikwu, said a total of 4,946 students graduated from the institution.
Prof Adikwu said the university awarded 24 First Class Honours
El Rufai, Osinbajo, Oshiomole playing key role in Ministerial Appointment
Saturday Vanguard has reliably gathered that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-rufai and the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole are currently playing key roles in the selection of ministerial nominees to ensure that competent party members are appointed.
It was gathered that the three strong men have the ears of President Muhammadu Buhari in his determination to appoint people, who would truly deliver in their respective portfolios. “But he (the President) is doing that separately and not as a team, so each of them may not know what the other is suggesting,” a source close to the Presidency said.
Multiple sources told Saturday Vanguard that the President was not only concentrating on competent party members but also on credible people in the private sector, who would drive the implementation of pro-people policies to be formulated.
One of the sources said the trio has identified some party members among who are the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala-Usman, immediate past Minister of Transport, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, former Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, ex-Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, among others.
The source said: “President Muhammadu Buhari is considering merit this time because he wants results from his ministers. That was why he is listening to the Vice President, APC party chairman, and Governor Nasir El-rufai to assist in choosing competent hands among party members and from the private sector. He does not want noise makers but those who can do the job.
The Managing Director of NPA, Hadiza Bala-Usman and Rotimi Amaechi may make the list because they possess the qualities needed. Another person is Fashola.”
Saturday Vanguard had reported that unlike the usual practice of placing party and other considerations above merit in the appointment of ministers, President Buhari’s cabinet members could emerge strictly on competence.
The development was informed by the perception of underperformance by most of the immediate past ministers, especially heads of key ministries, and in-fighting among junior and senior ministers which characterised the activities of the ministers.
These resulted in the absence of synergy that could have emanated from interministerial interface.
The situation informed sustained calls from the public for the rejigging of the cabinet and even outright sack of some ministers.
Such calls were not heeded by Buhari, who only witnessed the resignation of five ministers and the death of one.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Khadija Abba Ibrahim, had resigned on February 16, 2019, to run for an elective office in Damaturu/Tarmuwa/Gujba/Gulani Federal Constituency of Yobe State.
Alhaji Ibrahim Jubiril also resigned his appointment as Minister of State for Environment following his declaration as an Emir.
Hajiya Amina Mohammed, on February 24, 2017, resigned as Minister of Environment following her appointment at the United Nations as Deputy Secretary-General.
The incumbent Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi also resigned on May 30, 2018, to contest for the governorship position of his state.
Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Senator Aisha Alhassan, also known as Mama Taraba, resigned from the cabinet and from the APC, hinging her resignation on her disqualification in the screening for the 2019 Taraba State governorship election by the party’s National Working Committee.
In September 2018, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun resigned as the Minister of Finance as a result of allegations that she falsified her National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Exemption Certificate.
In March 2016, Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Mr. James Ocholi ,SAN, died in a road crash that occurred at Kilometre 57, along Kaduna-Abuja highway.
Some ministers gave a bad face to the President’s anti-corruption fight. But they survived. There were ministers who were even so petty that they applied and collected estacodes of aides for trips the aides never made. There were some who collected full estacodes and paid their aides half or even less. One aide even went public with corrupt activities in his ministry.
There were also some the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC simply failed to investigate allegations brought against them. They all survived a Buhari administration that allowed the ministers so much freedom and didn’t do enough to monitor them.
All that, we gathered, may change in this second coming they have tagged The Next Level even as some ministers may be retained while some may be re-assigned to other ministries.

Advice me please: My marriage is shaking because of what my wife's sister wears
I really need help and strategies to handle this matter. My wife sister came three weeks ago to live with us. She is 22 yrs. My problems now is her dressing mode which my wife is not careful about.
This lady always wear see-through singlets and night gowns. She has big breasts and always displaying them. I don't know how I will tell my wife to talk her sister to cover herself. She may feel bad that I'm attracted to her sister.
During the sallah holiday, I was with her alone because my wife don't holiday in her place of work, I have to leave the house and stay in the accommodation given to me in my place of work.
This morning, I carried my undies to wash, she crossed me and told me to give it to her to wash, the towel she tied because she was going to bathroom before was removing and showing her full breasts and she never worry about that.
Our marriage is just one year and I never cheated on my wife and she trusted me but her sister is really giving me emotional trauma. Can you imagine, yester night, my wife went to a programme, I was with her. So I called her around 8 pm that we should pray and go to bed. This lady came with a see-through night gown with a push up bra that put all breasts outside. Even her pant color was visible. I tried to control myself....
Even this morning, she came for prayer with the same gown and my wife did not caution her.....
How can I handle this matter?

My Neighbors suffer daily for bread because of unpaid pension
I usually want do this but it is becoming a burden that has to get off my chest as seeing my neighbors suffer daily for bread has become something I cannot sit back and watch.
My neighbor retired from the Lagos state civil service about 3 years ago and ever since then it has been hell and a struggle for them to feed or even pay school fees of their children. I inquired why they are having such challenged as their father was a civil servant and he should at least get his pension (if not lump sum, in quotes) and was told the Lagos state government for some years have not paid pensions.
One of his mates who also retired around the same time got sick, got worse and died. The deceased's wife also died in the ensuing troubles. I don't want to lose my neighbor or his wife.
I don't want his children (who I am friends with) to drop out of school or have to have the fear or not being able to afford tuition and hunger reduce how their performance. It is unfair to have people work for decades and when they should retire from the highest work they have some, they are denied the entitlement that will ease their life.
Please our senior citizens need help Lagos should not be owing these people.
Please help me post this. You can be saving a life

Another Nigerian killed by South African Police Service
Another Nigerian , Maxwell Ikechuku Okoye, from Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, has been allegedly killed by members of the South African Police Service.
The Vice-President, Nigerian Union in South Africa, Mr Joshua Ogade Itua, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone from Pretoria that Okoye was allegedly tortured to death on Friday in Ladysmith, Kwa-zulu-Natal Province.
The Police, according to the Chairman of Nigerian Union South Africa, Ladysmith Chapter, went to the apartment of the deceased and forced their way in.
“While they were with him, he called to alert other Nigerians but before they could get to his apartment the police had made away with his body. Maxwell’s lifeless body was later seen at the mortuary,” he said.
Itua said that NUSA leaders then went to the police for fact- finding, noting that his death has added to the number of Nigerians that were killed either by the Police or through Xenophobia in that country.
“The Station Commander of Ladysmith claimed that he was met foaming at the time they gained entry to his apartment.
“Police murder inquest has been opened and the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) in Kwa-zulu-Natal province have been informed for full investigation.
“Our condolence to his family and Nigerian Community in Ladysmith. We call on our government to seriously engage its counterparts in South Africa for investigation and prosecution if not a natural death.
“This is because, according to our leaders who went to the mortuary, there are bruises and blood all over his body so we have every reason to believe that he was tortured to death.
“Our stand as foremost Nigerian organisation in South Africa is that all cases involving the killings of Nigerians should be investigated and prosecuted irrespective the nationality and status of the perpetrators,” he told NAN.
Maxwell was born on October 5, 1979 and is survived by two children.

Runsewe: Bobrisky, a bad example that youths should not emulate

The Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture has lambasted the controversial Nigerian Internet personality and cross dresser, Okuneye Idris Olarenwaju popularly known as Bobrisky.
Otunba Segun Runsewe insisted that Bobrisky, whose contentious gender and amorously weird dress sense totally negates the true Nigerian culture which is respected and admired all over the world.
Runsewe who was speaking at an event marking the World Handcrafts Day at the NCAC headquarters in Abuja observed with dismay the bastardisation of our noble culture and values by attention-seeking characters such as Bobrisky who he described as a very bad example that the youths should not emulate.
The NCAC boss lamented especially the use of social media by Bobrisky and his ilk to continually send very bad signals to the world in what he called a totally false representation of our identity noting that this must be put in check.
He enjoined Nigerian youths to remain good cultural ambassadors of the country emphasising that the global community respects only those who are able to sustain their unique cultural identities.
Lecturer caught PANTS DOWN with student
Ado-Ekiti-A randy lecturer at Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, has been caught pants down while allegedly attempting to have carnal knowledge of one his students.
In a 29-second video clip which has gone viral on social media, the lecturer who is in the Accounting Department, was seen nude.
Some female students of the varsity who were believed to have laid siege to the residence of the female student were seen dragging the embattled lecturer out of a room.
Investigations, revealed that the lady’s boy friend and his friends were said to have informed the lady to play along with the lecturer when he made overtures to her in exchange for marks.
Judging by the the claim of a voice in the video, the scene of the incident was the state capital, Ado Ekiti.
According to the video, an audible voice chatted: “This is a lecturer of EKSU. He wants to have S*x with a student. The voice said a lot of unprintable things laying bare the escapades of the randy lecturer.
While making mockery and torturing the lecturer, one of the boys was seen pressing a powered electronic device to on his body to shock.
The lecturer was screaming and begging the students for mercy.
He was not spared as he was beaten black and blue by the students when he was trying to resist being pulled out from the room Unclad.
Meanwhile, the female student was the one who uploaded the video clip on her Whatsap status, captioning it “I am not sending oh, he wants to f**k fresh pu**y.
Some students of the institution who spoke with Vanguard confirmed the identity of the lecturer in the video as a popular person, though expressed their reservations about act.
They, however, revealed that the lecturer was not alone in the game of intimidating female students to have rump with them.
They said most lecturers in the institution were in the habit of abusing and taking undue advantage of ladies hence the need for investigation into the matter and sanction the lecturer.
They said there are several cases of such in the school but most victims were not bold enough to expose the act.
Efforts to contact the lecturer was unsuccessful as his line was switched off.
However, the EKSU authorities and police had said they were not aware of the incident.
ANDY RUIZ: I love that people underestimate me

One man’s misfortune is another man’s jackpot now and again.
Jarrell Miller’s misstep means that Andy Ruiz Jr has been graced with the opportunity of his fighting lifetime. That means his purse — in the millions — and also the upside if he manages to make the oddsmakers look foolish. If the Cali boxer, formerly in the Top Rank stable, downs the unbeaten Brit Joshua, he can be set up for two lifetimes. Now most aren’t thinking the chubby pugilist, aged 29, can do the deed and better Joshua on the DAZN platform. He sounded ready to confound the doubters.
“The training camp is really good, so we’re ready,” he says. Ruiz told “Talkbox” listeners this week that he is dialed in and won’t be seeking to merely come for the payday on June 1 when he takes on Joshua at Madison Square Garden.
“There’s a lot of doubters, there’s a lot of haters out there. But I tell everybody, do not judge a book by its cover. I love that people underestimate me, because when I get in the ring I surprise them, I amaze them, so they’re like, ‘Whoa, man, look at this chubby kid go!’”
He said he is working on trimming down, getting the physique a bit more sleek.
“This is the most focused I’ve been in my whole professional career. There’s a lot of doubters out there, that just gives me the drive and the motivation to prove everybody wrong, especially all the Anthony Joshua fans. All my Latino fans, my Mexican fans, we’re here to claim what’s mine, and that’s the WBO world championship he has, and all the other belts. So tune in June 1st at Madison Square Garden, there’s gonna be a lot of action, a lot of fist-fighting, punching to the face, and all that for 12 rounds or less!”
He had me going, for sure.
Could he share some specifics, not the game plan, but how will he look to try and better AJ?
“Just staying focused and on the game plan,” he said, noting that he’s sharp after doing a 12-week camp and getting a W over Alexander Dimitrenko on April 20.
“Anthony Joshua hasn’t fought in nine months, so I think I have an advantage. He’s big, he’s strong, but so is this little fat kid!”
He said he can use AJ’s size against him, that he will want to be first but also counter. Basically, sounds like he wants to out-work the UK ace.
But some will think Ruiz (32-1, 21 KO) is too tubby to be a threat. He said he’s always liked to chow, and yep, he has a sweet tooth. He promises explosivity and sharp movement, though, and says his weight will be around what it was when he fought Joseph Parker in 2016 (255 pounds), and that he will be in fine physical condition.
The fighter, now under the Al Haymon umbrella, continued. Does he see holes in AJ’s game? Speed, counter punching and making Joshua back up will get him to the W, he said. “It’s going to be an extreme fight.”
The boxer said he does very much realize people pay good money to see him in action so he will want to give them bang for the buck.
And he doesn’t spend time on beefing with haters, and people who online call him a fatty. He said he saw the light a little while back, and comprehended that you can’t please all the people all the time. He uses the meanness as fuel, he told “Talkbox” listeners.
“I used to be on social media and I’d be like, ‘Get in the ring with me and this little fat boy is gonna teach you a lesson!’”
Now he works to try and turn around the doubters, turn haters into rooters
PASTOR ADEBOYE'S HOMETOWN ON FIRE AS HAUSAS AND YORUBAS CLASH

There was a violent clash between Yoruba and Hausa youths in Ifewara, Osun state, the hometown of Pastor Enoch Adeboye
- The skirmish reportedly broke out after some Hausa youths had attacked a man identified as Demola, who later mobilized Yoruba youths to launch a counter attack
- According to one resident, one house was set ablaze; but others were also affected as a gas shop was near the property
A violent clash reportedly occurred between Yoruba and Hausa youths in Ifewara, Osun state, the hometown of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
According to Sahara Reporters, the Sabo Market in Ifewara was razed, following the incident.
Legit.ng gathers that the skirmish reportedly broke out after some Hausa youths had attacked a man identified as Demola, at a mining site around Oke Oguro, a village under Ifewara, earlier in the day.
According to a source, Demola had been attacked by some Hausa youths working in mining sites around Oke Oguro and the attackers reportedly took an undisclosed amount of money from him.
Reports state that the victim mobilized other youths in the town and launched an attack on the area where Hausa traders live, after he escaped from his attackers.
The source said: “Demola was attacked by some Hausa youth in a mining site around Oke Oguro. They attacked him and took his money.
“Demola later told other youths in the town what had happened and they mobilized and attacked the Sabo area where Hausa traders are living.
“As far as I know, no life was lost, but Sabo market had been razed. Demola has been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.”
One resident identified only as Gbeminiyi, said one house in Sabo was set ablaze; but because there was a gas retail shop near the property, the fire escalated and affected others.
The Osun state police command’s spokesperson, Folasade Odoro, said the situation had been brought under control.
Odoro said: “We have deployed our men in the town. The situation is under control. No casualty, please.”
The Osun state governor’s chief press secretary, Adeniyi Adesina, also said the police were on top of the situation.
In a similar development,
It was previously reported that a violent clash occurred between Yoruba and Hausa residents of Sabo area of Akure, Ondo state.
Several people were reportedly injured in the fight, while houses and motorcycle were set ablaze during the clash.
A source said the fight started after followers of a masquerader passed through the Old Garage area of Akure where some Hausas sell groceries.
The followers were alleged to have attempted to disrupt the business of the Hausa traders which was resisted by the latter, leading to a clash.
FINALLY!!!! AFC Ajax star signs new five years long deal with next club

Ligue 1 Champions Paris Saint Germain have apparently reached an agreement with AFC Ajax star Matthijs De Ligt, according to reports from France.
Soccerlink.fr reports that the 19-year-old will join the Parisians on a new five-year-long deal. Earlier this week, it was reported that de Ligt’s agent Mino Raiola was at Paris to enter final negotiations for the player with the club’s representatives.
According to ESPN , PSG will pay Ajax a transfer fee of over €75million for the Dutchman. The English news agency’s report further adds that de Ligt is all set to receive a gross annual salary of €12million.
The defender who is also the captain of Ajax had a brilliant 2018-19 campaign as he led the Dutch club to a domestic double – the Eredivisie and the KNVB Cup – this season. Ajax also reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, notable scalps along the way – Real Madrid in the round-of-16 and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus in the quarter-finals.
Earlier last week, the center-back also scored a vital goal against England in the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League, to help his national team Netherlands reach the finals of the competition.
It was also reported that de Ligt is one of the hottest prospects in the transfer market this summer, with several other European giants like Barcelona, Juventus, Manchester United and Bayern Munich trying hard to secure his services ahead of next season.
FOX Sports Asia probability ratings: 3/5; Mino Raiola – who is de Ligt’s agent – is well-known for making high-profile transfers. Hence there are chances that a deal is done between PSG and the Ajax star.
UNILAG student received DOLLARS from crush
A UNILAG student received a pleasant surprise from someone crushing on her and it sent her fellow hostel mates into a frenzy.

The student was in her hostel - Moremi hall - when she received a gift from the crush trying to get her attention. There were flowers and chocolates in the package she received. There was also a box which resembled a shoe box. When she opened it, expecting to see a shoe, she saw a bouquet.
"Another flower again?" someone asked from the background.
But to their shock, they discovered it was a bouquet of Dollars with chocolates nestled between each Dollar note.
According to the Twitter user who shared the video online, the Dollar notes amount to ?540K

Katsushima, who would eventually annex the match ball with a hat-trick, opened the floodgates in the 16th minute. But Adeyeye Damilola equalized for Nigeria 10 minutes later.
Katsushima got his second four minutes after the restart, and then made it three for himself and Japan in the 52nd minute. Suwama Kosei made it 4-1 with seven minutes to go.

Wristband Chapter 3
WristbanD
CHAPTER 3
“I was disappointed in what you did yesterday but
nevertheless I will forgive you because I can’t trade your love for that” Jude
said standing up to hold her shoulder
“Thanks Love” Jane felt relieved in her heart because she
never expected Jude to be that easy on her
“Let’s meet at our usual joint in the evening, come with all
games and naughtiness. I can’t wait to have you in my arms” Jude said and
kissed her forehead
Jane’s happiness knew no bound because what just happened
cleared her heart’s worries and she wished the hands of clock could be uttered.
She was not concentrating in the class anymore, all in her mind was to be in
Jude’s arms.
*************
Months later……………………..
“What is the significance of this wristband in your
daughter’s hand?” Popoola asked his wife
“OH! She will never want anyone to touch or remove it from
her hand. I don’t know who could have given her that she took it this special.
Anyways I will know how to find out from her” Juli replied his husband
“Okay. Dress her up and let’s go to the farm to harvest
those corns before they start spoiling” Popoola hurried his wife
“Sewa!!!!!! Come here” Juli called out for her daughter to
dress her up
*************
“Jude, its few months to the Senior Waec and I am feeling
somehow” Jane said resting her head on the chest of the sitting Jude
“And what is bothering you?” Jude asked looking into her
eyes
Jane adjusted herself to face him “My father said
immediately after my last paper, I am travelling to Abuja to start a new life
with his brother who works in an oil company” Jane said with heavy heart
“Hmmmmmm!” Jude sighed “Is this the end of the road for our
love?” Jude asked with a broken heart
There was some minutes of silence between both lovers
“You know what, I don’t want us to think about what will
happen then. Let’s focus on what is happening now, when we get to the bridge we
will know how to cross it” Jude broke the silence with cool words winking to
his lover
Jane smiled and they both continued using the time for other
sweet discussions
*************
Later that night,
Jude was on his bed thinking about what Jane told her few hours earlier
“Hmmmmm!!!! I am speechless on this but is this how Jane
will break my heart without taking care of it till I forget the wound” Jude
asked himself
As he was thinking, something dropped into his heart
“Hmmmm!!!!! Yeah, since we are both matured for it. I think
we can do it to have a kind of bond between us even though we separate we will
have this as a significant experience we had together” Jude soliloquized
“But I know no matter how we try, destiny will prevail over
our Love” Jude finalized before picking up his android to play games as he does
at night before sleeping
Jane on the other hand didn’t even worry about what will
happen then. She followed Jude’s words that when they get to the bridge, they
will cross it.
************
Two weeks later……….
There will be a holiday and both lovers decided to spend the
day in Jude’s house. Salewa didn’t object that because she had always wanted
her son to be happy.
“If that is what will make you happy that day, you are free
my son” Salewa replied her son when Jude tendered his request
“Yes Mum! I love you” Jude shouted as he hugged his mum.
Salewa will do anything to see smiles on her son’s face every moment.
At School that day, Jude tendered the reply his mother gave
him to Jane ……………….

The Mythical Rivalry Between the Lagoon And The GP (A Folktale for every Unilag Student) by Jahismine O.
THE MYTHICAL RIVALRY BETWEEN THE LAGOON AND THE GP (A folktale for every Unilag Student)
UNILAG, THE UNIVERSITY OF FIRST CHOICE AND NATION’S PRIDE
The only University beside a lagoon with beautiful views of the 3rd Mainland Bridge
“Baba, tell me what you know about Unilag” I requested.
Baba kept mute for a while and smiled.
“yeah, I can remember a folktale to tell you my dear” Baba said.
I grabbed a seat close to the wooden door and sat down.
Baba looked into the sky, smiled, looked into my face and smiled again.
Then he started; “Long time ago, the lagoon and GP were once lovers,
Their love grew back then and it blossomed like a mango tree in its time.
The lagoon loved the GP and was ready to do anything for his lover.
The GP also promised never to break the bond between them.
The moon, the breeze and the sky were the witnesses to their beautiful love.”
Hope you are following my son?” Baba asked “yes sir” with rapt attention.
Then there came some set of people with a special offer of job for GP.
The Student who was the future of this set of people needed her as his Personal Assistant.
The lagoon being a kind man decided to release his lover to work.
But he gave lot of terms and conditions to which the GP didn't object.”
“What are the conditions baba?” I asked with much curiousness
“Hmmmm!!!!” Baba sighed and continued, “These are the conditions;
The GP must not be far from him which implies a very tough decision,
The home of The Student must be built beside The lagoon (where Unilag is today),
The proposed main workshop of the GP must not be far from The lagoon (where the Library is today),
Even the Seat of Power of this set of People was built beside the Lagoon (The Senate Building).
The lagoon prepared a place of meeting for him and his lover beside his home,
Which this set of people called The lagoon Frontage up till today (hmmmmmm!!!!!!)
But something happened which led to the rivalry between the two lovers.
The GP started working with the Student and all conditions were met beyond expectations.
The GP hardly had time for her lover even though she was close to him.
She is expected to follow the Student everywhere he goes as speculated by her job.
Emotions arose between two opposite sex and things started happening.
The Student fell in love with the beauty of the GP and vowed to do anything to protect her.
As women would like it, they needed someone to protect, love and cherish their wellbeing.
Even more than the lagoon could do, the Student cared for the GP and could die for it.
The Love became real and obvious to the surprise of this set of people and the lagoon.
Prior to the agreement between this set of people and the lagoon, they tried their best to prevent.”
(“Hm!!, no wonder the University would not want us to have a good GP, it is either they paralyze it
Or they render it useless or they send us away from the house built beside the lagoon” I lamented)
“Yes, My son. This set of people increased the rules of living in the house built beside the lagoon,
They never wanted to break the promise but Love is thicker even can be funny sometimes” Baba said.
“The lagoon became angry and vowed to revenge not knowing something even worse lies ahead” Baba continued
“And what was that?” I asked “The agitation to take the GP away was raised by the Student” Baba replied.

THE MYTHICAL RIVALRY BETWEEN THE LAGOON AND THE GP
(A folktale for every Unilag Student)
“get me a cup of water my son” Baba requested, after drinking Baba continued,
“The agitation to take the GP away from the house built beside the lagoon was tendered.
And this set of people objected and never agree because they valued their promise.
“I am your future, you should value my request more than that” the Student protested
They thought and called for a meeting between themselves and some decisions were made.”
“Baba, what decisions” I asked looking at his up-facing face
“They assigned a certain number of years to the Student before he will take away the GP.
Then the Legendary Struggle and Battle for GP was created for the Student to fight.
There was happiness in the heart of the Student amidst the decision and vowed to win.
The GP having found love in another place decided to follow the Student no matter what.
Their Love was strong and they vowed to fight every battle they face together.
All in a bid to leave the house built beside the lagoon hale and healthy together.
The lagoon Front created for the GP and him was then re-branded by the new lovers.
The GP and her new lover go there to have some fun before returning back home.
When the lagoon heard of these development going on behind him,
He became heartbroken, he nearly committed suicide and he took some actions.
He vowed to destroy the union of the Student and the GP even to his last drop of blood”
“Baba, what did he do afterwards?” I asked, “My son, keep calm and hear” Baba said
“hmmmm!!!!!! The lagoon summoned the three witnesses to his love for the GP.
He placed them in the lagoon Front to work against the union of the Student and the GP.
(hmmm!!! No wonder, students who go to the lagoon front find comfort more than preparing)
“yes, my son. The atmosphere of the lagoon Front is just enough to distract the Student.
The battle that lies ahead of students is now handled with levity hands due to this”
“Sir, what later happened to the lagoon?” I asked
“After all these, developments started happening. The Student no longer come to the lagoon front,
Which prevented the laid down plan of the lagoon in destroying their love.
So, he was rendered helpless, he cried and cried until all his body became flowing tears.
(“no wonder the lagoon is shallow, what a deep folktale” I said)
“But it is capable of swallowing the GP of any student who doesn't protect his GP from the lagoon Front” Baba said
In view of this, this set of people built a fence between the flowing tears and the lagoon Front to make the place safe in fear of the wrath of the Lagoon.
(hmm!!!! the legendary old fence separating the lagoon and the lagoon Front)."
Baba stood up, "that's all i know my son" he went inside leaving me amazed
BE CAREFUL, THE LAGOON TEAR IS CAPABLE OF SWALLOWING YOUR GP
WHEN YOUR GP IS NOT HEALTHY, YOUR BP IS HIGH
WHEN YOUR GP IS HEALTHY, YOU WILL HAVE REST OF MIND
WHEN YOUR GP IS HEALTHY, YOU WILL HAVE REST OF MIND

STRIVE HARD NOT TO LET THE LEGENDARY CURSE BE FULFILLED OVER YOUR LOVE FOR YOUR GP

CLEARED CONSCIENCE
I am omoluabi;
My yes is strong like a rock unmoved
And my no stand firm with its two feet on the rock.
Nothing can influence or make me feel guilty,
I have a clear conscience,
And a sense of wholeness.
Like a pure white garment,
My mind is painted white all through;
No spot can be detected or removed,
Even if it were to be washed with So Klin soap.
I am innocent!
I refuse to be stained till death cross my path.

Does Love at First Sight Really Exist?
It’s Saturday night, and the bar is packed. A beautiful
brunette is sitting at the bar, sipping a vodka soda and
chatting with a friend. Then, out of the corner of her eye,
she catches the glimpse of a man. Their eyes lock.
And they lived happily ever after. But is it really that
easy?
Legend of Love — Why It Matters
Don’t get too sloppy on that first date — researchers who
study human attraction say people form opinions quickly
when it comes to romance . In fact, some researchers
think it takes just three minutes to decide whether
someone’s a potential mate (and that’s before the drinks
come out). And findings about friends who click
immediately might also apply to romantic partnerships.
In one study on friendships, people who enjoyed the first
few minutes together were likely to develop a close
relationship after nine weeks .
But instant attraction isn’t just in our heads: There may
be a biological basis to love at first sight . Studies
have found animals are more likely to mate with partners
they’re genetically compatible with . It’s unclear
whether this research applies to humans, but some
scientists think we might be pre-programmed to spot “the
one.” Romantic attraction could serve an evolutionary
function — we seek out specific people that will be
suitable mates, and give everyone else the boot . But
meeting that special someone’s gaze and falling in love
may be a bit more complicated.
Instalove? — The Answer/Debate
Although about half the American population believes in
love at first sight, not everyone falls head over heels
right
away. Perhaps surprisingly, women aren’t always the
romantics in this love equation: One study found men
experience love at first sight more often than women .
Researchers think that’s because men respond to
physical cues more readily than women, and women tend
to develop trust more gradually than men. And people
might be more inclined to believe in love at first sight
when they’re younger. Folks over 50 are six percent less
likely than people under 50 to think people can fall in
love immediately (possibly because they’ve had more
romantic relationships with different partners).
But it’s unclear how often love at first sight turns into a
successful partnership. One survey in Israel found only
about 10 percent of people say their long-term
relationships began that way. While people can be
instantly attracted to each other, some scientists say
being in love means really getting to know someone
over time .
So don’t throw in the towel if that first date didn’t go so
hot. Psychologists believe more interactions with
someone can make them look more attractive and
intelligent. (Wanna’ hang out tomorrow, and the next day,
and the next…?) It may be worth giving love at second or
third sight a chance, too.
The Takeaway
Sometimes one look is all it takes to fall in love. But
some experts think real affection develops gradually over
time.

10 Characteristics of Successful Relationships
People
seeking couples counseling seek change to a relationship
dynamic
that isn't working in some way. The problems can
include
poor communication, lack of emotional safety,
resentment,
trust violations and many other issues. It might
even be
that the couple have different ideas of what the
problems
are or simply a felt sense that things are not right.
Couples
who demonstrate the makings or potential of a strong
relationship
foundation are in a better position to work through
challenging
situations as they arise.
There are
many attributes of healthy and connected relationships
but here
are some of them:
10
Characteristics of Successful Relationships
1.
Friendship: Couples who have a strong friendship have
staying
power. They not only love each other but
genuinely
like each other as people. They enjoy hanging
out
together. They might even consider each other their
“best
friend.”
2. Humor:
Partners who can make each other laugh tend
to be good
at de-escalating conflict when it arises. Be
cautious
of appropriate use of humor. If things have
gotten too
tense, it might not be appropriate in that
moment.
3.
Communication: Those who are able to openly express
their
feelings and avoid burying hurt or anger, often deal
with
situations as they come up more effectively. This
avoids the
build-up of resentment.
4. Chore
Sharing: Couples who divvy up the household or
parenting
responsibilities collaboratively are less likely
to harbor
bad feelings about what they perceive as
“unfair.”
When both are participating in the relationship
and
related duties, it lends itself to a team atmosphere.
5. Sexual
Intimacy: Couples who feel sexually and
physically
connected, tend to feel more cared for. But
keep in
mind there are varying levels of needs and
meanings
to sexual intimacy. Talk to each other about
it.
6.
Affection: A hug, kiss, tussle of the hair and other brief
displays
of affection remind each other that they
matter.
This is especially important with hectic lives
with work
and family obligations. Brief displays of
affection
can remind each other that you’re still there
and love
each other.
7.
Avoidance of the “Horsemen of the Apocalypse”: This
is a term
coined by couples researcher, John
Gottman, PhD,
who is able to predict divorce with
incredible
accuracy. His “four horsemen of the
apocalypse”
are criticism, contempt, defensiveness and
stonewalling.
Work hard to avoid these behaviors to
minimize
damaging the relationship.
8. Mutual
and Separate Friends/Hobbies: Partners who
socialize
with other couples and also maintain separate
friendships
demonstrate balance in regards to honoring
themselves
as individuals and the relationship. Self
satisfaction
and fulfillment adds to relationship
satisfaction.
It’s important to feels secure being who
you are
within the dynamic as well as be clear on how
each
partner views a satisfactory balance.
9.
Reliability: Partners in a relationship want to feel they
can rely
upon each other. If couples do what they say
and say
what they do, they create an atmosphere of
safety in
knowing their words and actions mean
something.
They can both breathe a sigh of relief to
know the
other has their back.
10. Repair
Attempts: When couples take responsibility for
their
mistakes with each other, take responsibility and
offer a
repair attempt, there is another important way to
avoid
resentment to grow. This requires an ability to be
humble.
9 Signs He's Not a Cheater
Being cheated on is the worst. You feel rejected but also
pissed.
You don't know who you can trust. Well, scientific studies
have
narrowed down some traits that are statistically more common
in guys who cheat, so here are some signs (not confirmation,
obviously) that your guy will never stray.
1. You bring home the same amount of money. A recent study
from the American Sociological review showed that partners
were less likely to cheat if they were in the same (or
similar)
income brackets. Men were more likely to cheat if they made
a
lot more money than their partner, and they were most likely
to
cheat if they made a lot less. So if you two have similar
paychecks, you've got statistics on your side.
2. He's from the Midwest. According to this poll ,
Midwesterners
are just too well-mannered to cheat on their partners.
3. His friends are also faithful. People are more likely to
cheat if
their friends are also cheaters, according to M. Gary
Newman,
author of The Truth About Cheating . If his friends are
trustworthy,
it's likely he's trustworthy too.
4. He feels loved and trusted. According to a study
conducted by
Newman , most men don't cheat because they're not satisfied
sexually. They cheat because they're seeking emotional
satisfaction.
5. He's an extrovert. Extroverts are less likely to go along
with
the influence of others. Research shows that introverts are
actually more likely to cheat because they're more likely to
agree
to someone propositioning them. So even if he's always out
there meeting new people, you actually might be safer.
6. He just seems like the kind of guy who wouldn't
cheat. According to a real study that people spent time on ,
researchers found that you can trust your gut when it comes
to
guys who look like they'd cheat. If your gut is telling you
"no,"
then it's a good idea to listen to that gut.
7. He's really into Pantera. Yeah, according to this survey
conducted by the Mirror (so, questionable), heavy metal
listeners
are apparently the least likely to cheat.
8. He comes from a big family. A survey from adult meet-up
site
Seeking Arrangements shows that cheaters are usually only
children. Ask if he has a sister.
9. He has a hard time getting it up. A sad study published
in
the Archives of Sexual Behavior showed that men who are
easily
aroused are more likely to cheat, so I guess mark one in the
"pros" column for whiskey dick.
