6TH CODE OF WRITING

KNOW THE KIND OF WRITE UP YOU ARE WRITING

I knew why I put this as number 6, it should be maybe no 3 or 4. But you have to understand the foundation of a good write-up before picking up your pen to start writing. Knowing the kind of write-up you are turning your created picture and emotion into is really an important factor in writing.

We have poems, we have rhymes, we have stories, we have what I called “poetic soliloquy” and lots of write-up genres. After the first five codes, this code opens the right door for the right writing.  After I created a picture of someone blaming his father for not taking good care of his lifestyle right from scratch, I created an emotion of anger mixed with sorrow (talking to someone angrily to make that person feel guilty for an error done), then I asked myself “what kind of writing do I want to create?” I thought of probably a story, I said NO because I only wanted to pass a short message across to all fathers in the world. Then I thought of a personified write up using personal pronoun “I”, I put myself in place of the person talking to his father then I picked up my pen to write it just like a part in a movie (this is another type of writing that I think I created by myself) and it has been wonderful since then.

After knowing the kind of write up I wanted to create, this led me into writing “YOU CAME EARLY BUT IT’S LATE”. I think you read that in code 3.
I think you've gotten that also, know the kind of WRITE UP you want to CREATE

5TH CODE OF WRITING

FEEL THE EMOTION CREATED

Yeah, emotions are created though some comes naturally due to happenings around us. But as a writer, you must learn how to create an emotion in you while you hold your pen to write. Let me continue from the illustration I was giving in the last code. After creating an emotion of love within you as if you are the guy in the picture created in your mind. Then you feel the emotion, let the emotion control you to an extent “remember, maturity means your ability to control your emotions from going extreme”.

I wrote a story sometimes ago, titled “MY HEART” when I was writing that story, It got to a point I had to see a comedy show to make me lighten my mood. I was so in it that I forgot I was the one writing it, it was full of dirges just because I allowed my emotion to control what I am writing. Let me give you a part where I felt like crying

Tayo became confused, “what bold step did you take? Don’t tell me you attempted suicide?” Tayo asked with fear written all over his weeping face. “Tayo please, respect my forehead, so when I get over there. Angels will show me this kind of love” Tope requested. Tayo kissed her forehead passionately in tears, and Tope closed her eyes. Tayo’s loud wailing made Tope’s parent banged into the room as they saw Tope sleeping on Tayo’s lap.

I felt like crying at this point because looking at what this lady faced, she just can’t help it. Seriously, I allowed my emotions to control me to the extent that I shed a little tears and today it was one of the best story I’ve ever written. People around me that read this, I caught them crying real. It was just too amazing for me to see people crying out of an imaginative story.

Apart from the emotion created, there is something I would want us to know at this point. Let’s go into the next code….

4TH CODE OF WRITING

CREATE AN EMOTION FOR THE PICTURE

This is one of the most sensitive parts of the codes. Rogert Ebert said something that really amused me, he said and I quote “your intellect may be confused, but your emotions will never lie to you”. This part of emotion is divided into two sections, this section and the other called FEEL THE EMOTION CREATED.

After creating a beautiful picture of what you would like to write on in your mind, the next thing is to create the right emotion for that right in you. That is why all writers need a quiet and lonely place to deliver a good piece of writing. I am someone that hates noise naturally maybe because I love writing? I don’t know, all I am sure is that I have phobia for noise or unwanted sounds. That is why most of my write ups were done when I am lonely and quiet or better still in the midnight when all hands and legs are done on their respective beds.

Back to that, you create an emotion for that picture. Imagine if you want to write on a topic centered on love. After creating a picture of a guy talking to a gal, telling her the intensity of his love for her. Then you create an emotion of love within as if you were the guy in the picture. This will take us to the next CODE.

3RD CODE OF WRITING

CREATE A PICTURE IN YOUR MIND

After you’ve created the right thinking for the right topic, the next code is to create a picture in your mind. Make it look as if you are seeing a movie, make it look as if the picture is right in front of you. Let the picture control you, don’t control the picture. Leave it to control you, it will surely end somewhere. What will make the picture end somewhere is your experience in life and because you’ve thought about it before and don’t forget “you might think it will end somewhere and it later ended elsewhere”

Someone just asked me now “I think this code is for writing a story?” actually YES but not only for story writing alone. I wrote some write-ups sometimes ago titled “BROKEN” and “YOU CAME EARLY BUT IT’S LATE” plus lots more. When you read these short write ups, the sample of the picture I created will appear before you as if you were seeing that part in a movie. BROKEN actually was a write up that was talking about a guy that did so many atrocities, now caught by the law and he was in the prison but he was trying to say his wicked heart has been broken. (Click on this link to read:Broken ) that is an example of a short writing in from of what I called poetic soliloquy.

And also I would love you to read YOU CAME EARLY BUT ITS LATE here (click on this link to read:You came Early but It's Late )

Now i know you've gotten the 3rd Code "Create a Picture in your Mind"
