I AM GOING TO FIGHT

I am Going to Fight

Her freedom came far back as 1960, when we gained our independence
Corruption gained freedom with us
We didn't noticed until we became free of our colonial masters
Now, it has chopped off 95% of the whole land
Everywhere, corruption has her children roaming about the street
Who will stand up to fight it?
Patriots once stood up, they fought and they died fighting
The sword they left behind is still sharp and smooth
I've found the sword, the sword is TRUTH and in its handle lies LOVE
The Love of the People drives them
The truth that Corruption was a destroyer made them fierce warriors against it
Who is going to stand up to fight corruption? No one because of Fear
But let me tell the world this
*********
I am going to fight
And i am going to keep fighting because it is easier now
And I am used to it
The rest of you are going to have a tougher choice
Because I am not going to sell it to you, Its too ugly for that
But when you are fighting in your own backyard
When you are fighting for your land
It all hurts a little less, and makes a little more sense
Because for corruption, this is just a place
But for me, this is my home
*******
"He who cares about the wooden door of the house, protects it from falling"
"The Cat that values the sweetness of the fish never allows the rat to lay hands on it"
"The citizen that values the sweetness of the Land would never allow corruption to lay her hands on it"
"He who cares about Nigeria should strive to make it corruption-free"

THE LOST YORUBA BEAUTY

THE LOST YORUBA BEAUTY

Listening to the words of my grandma

Telling me stories of her childhood

The beauty of Yoruba Culture

The beauty of Yoruba Dressing

The Beauty of Yoruba Hairstyle

The Beauty of Yoruba Languages

The Beauty of Yoruba Folk tales

The Beauty of Yoruba Drums and Songs

Then I asked her, "Mama, where are all these beauties?"

And she answered, "we couldn't find them again, they got lost"

Then I asked "what replaced the beauties?"

The she answered with the

The Tragedy of Western Cultures

The Ugliness of Western Dressings

The Waywardness of Western Hairstyles

The Difficulty in Western Languages

The Less Comicality of Western Folk tales

*********

The Lost Yoruba Beauty

The Lost Yoruba Hairstyles (suku, adimole, Sade adu, orisa-bunmi, and so on)

The lost Yoruba Dressings (buba, agbada, kembe, iro, Ankara, etc.)

The lost Yoruba folk tales (Ijapa tiroko, Oko Yanibo and others)

The Lost Yoruba songs and Drums (gangan, Iya ilu, sekere, Apala and others)

How I wish we are promoting our culture just like the whites are promoting theirs

"Even if they don't, I Will"

*********

I dedicate this to all Promoters of the Yoruba Culture Worldwide

And I must say this

Am proud to be a YORUBA MAN

BABY, DON'T CRY

BABY, DONT CRY

Every time I tell her

I've gotten Admission Into the University,

I can see she want to Cry

Anytime I say

It remains few days to leave her for the University,

I can tell she want to Cry

Thinking of the Lonely days

when I am not there

Thinking of the Lonely nights

when I am gone

Baby don't Cry, Pls, Don't Cry

Thousands of people want to see me

Millions of people are waiting

for my message

Billions of people are dying

just to hear my sayings

I am going to the University,

to learn how to convey my message

I am going to the University,

to gain more knowledge about my Message

I am going to the University

To be Bold and courageous

Because I would be going round the world

Spreading the message

Because I would be going round the world

Spreading the word

My BABY, PLS DONT CRY

Dedicated to My Love

I remain

Jahismine
